Barbecue Dry Rub

For great tasting chicken, this barbecue dry rub is the one to use. Traditional poultry seasoning flavors in this rub make it a good, basic chicken dry rub recipe.

I've used it on many types of grilled and smoked chicken, and the results have always been spectacular. One of my favorites is when used on beer can chicken. The rubbed, crispy skin tastes really good! Might not be the healthiest thing around, but hey, we're barbecuin' here!

Chicken Dry Rub Recipe

1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons whole mustard seeds
1 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper

Combine the ingredients and rub into the chicken, all over, inside and out. For bolder flavor put the seasoning under the skin.
