BBQ Book Review

The following is my BBQ Book review of Competition BBQ Secrets
The BBQ Book

I'm always on the lookout for fresh, new barbecue information, and when I started seeing ads on the net reading "YOUR BBQ SUCKS", and "Slow smoke meat like the pros", I knew I had to check it out. Even the name of the outfit that puts out the e-book is intriguing...The Chatham Artillery BBQ Team. Are they members of the National Guard? Or do they just like big guns?

Anyway, after seeing those ads for a few weeks, I finally purchased the BBQ Book, or to be more precise, Competition BBQ Secrets, from the Chatham Artillery BBQ Team. The process of purchasing the book was simple. I just clicked on the image advertisement and I was guided through the buying and downloading process. It was really easy to buy the BBQ Book. Here's one of the ads you may have seen floating around the internet:

What's In The BBQ Book?

I was a little skeptical about what I'd be getting until I had the book downloaded and actually started reading through it. There are 62 pages in all. Here's a list of some of what you'll find in the book, Competition BBQ Secrets.

There's also a short glossary of bbq terms, and a lot of good information about BBQ competitions, in case you're ready to start competing for those prizes.

I found the tips given for winning in competitions very good. You're taught how the contests are conducted, there's a big list of items you'll need (or may need) to compete, and tips on presentation for making the bbq visually appealing to the judges.

If you like pictures of good looking barbecue, this book has much to view. I actually got kind of hungry just looking through the ebook and had to grab a few leftover babyback ribs to chew on before I could finish reading. Here's the picture that made me get up and go to the fridge:

The picture above is also a great example of what I was talking about before...beautiful presentation that'll entice the bbq judges to vote for your ribs. Visual appeal is actually a part of what bbq judges "judge" in the competitions.

Overall, I was very happy with my purchase of the BBQ Book. I learned a lot about bbq competitions that I didn't know, and some really good information about barbecuing that was new to me also. I would recommend the Chatham Artillery BBQ Book to anybody that's serious about barbecuing great tasting and great looking food.

There's a really awesome injectable sauce recipe for beef brisket on page 34 that surprised even me when I tried it. I've never tasted brisket that was as good as the ones I smoked using that recipe. But sorry, I can't share it with you here...you'll have to buy the book! You can click here, or you can click on any one of the links below (choose your favorite!) to go the the Chatham Artillery website, where you can complete your purchase.
