BBQ Lamb Chops
I found a package of lamb chops on special the other day. Made
bbq lamb chops out of 'em. And they were good!
After bringing my cheap chops home, I took stock of my herbs, spices and seasonings. This is what I came up with, a wet rub recipe for lamb.
Easy Grilled Lamb Rub
This recipe made just enough rub for 3 pounds of lamb chops.
INGREDIENTS
-
1/4 cup olive oil
-
1 tablespoon onion powder
-
1 tablespoon dried parsley
-
2 teaspoons seasoned salt
-
1 teaspoon dried oregano
-
1 teaspoon dried thyme
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Combine the dry ingredients with the olive oil. Massage the wet rub onto the lamb chops, both sides.
Lay the chops on a platter, in a baking dish or a bowl and let them rest for two hours, absorbing the herbal aromatics. Remove, drain, and grill over medium high direct heat, 2 to 4 minutes on each side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Best when grilled to medium rare or medium doneness.
Let the
bbq lamb chops rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
