Brisket Rub Recipe
If you like your brisket spicy, this
brisket rub recipe will add the heat you desire, along with a goodly amount of flavor to boot. Several types of peppers add flavor and heat to this spicy brisket rub mixture.
Spicy Brisket Rub
INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup chili powder (hot or mild, your choice)

2 tablespoons paprika

2 tablespoons chipotle pepper powder

2 tablespoons onion powder

2 tablespoons black pepper

2 tablespoons sugar
-
2 tablespoons oregano
-
1 tablespoon ground cumin
-
1 tablespoon cayenne powder, 2T for more heat
Combine all ingredients, storing in an airtight container in a cool, dark location. Will keep for up to 3 months in the refrigerator.
Because this
brisket dry rub contains no salt, it can be used liberally to add the desired level of heat. Season the brisket with salt before applying the rub.
