Mustard Barbecue Sauce Recipe

This sweet and tangy mustard barbecue sauce recipe tastes great on barbecued pork and chicken. It's an easy bbq sauce recipe, too. No cooking is required.

Mustard based barbecue sauces can be made sweet or not-so-sweet, hot and spicy or mild. This recipe has a middle of the road flavor...not too sweet or hot, but by no means flavorless, either.

Add all ingredients to a pint mason jar, screw on the lid, and shake until well mixed. This sauce is best if refrigerated overnight so that the flavors blend together.

For a more spicy sauce, increase the amount of brown sugar to one-quarter cup, the black pepper to three-quarters of a teaspoon, and the cayenne to one-half a teaspoon (or more).

This mustard bbq sauce recipe is great for dipping and on sandwiches. It can also be used on meat and poultry as it's barbecuing, but should only be brushed on during the last half hour of cooking to prevent scorching.
