Steak Rub Recipe

Really good on rib eyes, this steak rub recipe is a simple way to liven up the flavor of that beef. With the addition of a few simple spices and herbs, your grilled steaks will be phenomenal!

You can assemble this beef steak rub well in advance, and in fact it's best if made at least one day ahead of time. I mix it up in half-cup batches...enough to rub up to two dozen steaks. The ingredients include:

2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning salt
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Combine and use immediately, but it's best if made one day in advance. If you have a mortar and pestle, work all the ingredients together to make them a little finer in texture.

I've found this to be a very good rib eye seasoning, but it also works well on grilled chicken too. Evenly coat the meat and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before grilling.
