Smashed Grilled Potatoes

I've been having a great time this last week. My son is moving back to Washington state from the East coast after a stint with the Army National Guard. He's spent the last week here in Kansas, and it's been really great having him here. Over the last week, I've shown off some of my BBQ skills, but he came right back and topped me with some of his recipes. He's a real chip off the old block!

This recipe of his for smashed grilled potatoes is really good. He showed me that by boiling potatoes in super salty water, they get done quicker. And it seems like the salt is absorbed into the potatoes, making them perfectly seasoned without adding additional salt.

After he made them once, I gave the recipe a try. You can see how it went on the Smashed Grilled Potatoes page.

New Recipes

Rosemary Garlic Flat Iron Steak
First off, pick out a good flat iron steak for this recipe. Look for a steak that has plenty of marbling, and it will be juicy and tender. The beef is seasoned with a great tasting homemade steak rub, and grilled to medium over charcoal.

Grilled Cilantro Chicken
This is one amazing recipe! I wish I could take credit for it, but I can't. It's another one of my son's recipes. With cilantro, lime, garlic and other tasty things, this recipe is really great.

Herb Garlic Brine
Fresh herbs and garlic in this brine recipe add loads of flavor to your chicken. Can be used for grilled or smoked chicken.
