BBQ Baked Beans

Whip up a batch of these sweet bbq baked beans while your ribs or brisket are out barbecuing on the grill. These are especially good if you add some barbecued pork or beef brisket from your last cookout.

Barbecued Beans Recipe

This easy baked bean recipe will take about one and one-half hours to make, so there's plenty of time to have these ready for your feast. And if you don't have any leftover bbq brisket or pork to add, you can brown some bacon and toss it in for that extra jolt of flavor.

Four 15-ounce cans of baked beans

  • One tablespoon vegetable oil
  • One-quarter cup red bell pepper, chopped
  • One-quarter cup chopped onion
  • One rib of celery, sliced very thin
  • One teaspoon chopped garlic
  • One-third cup brown sugar
  • One-quarter cup molasses
  • One cup chopped brisket or rib meat, or 12 ounces of bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • One cup your favorite barbecue sauce
  • Two tablespoons paprika
  • One tablespoon onion powder

Saute the garlic, onion, celery and red bell pepper in oil for 5 minutes, until tender. Combine the the remaining ingredients. Pour into a baking dish and cook, uncovered in a 300 degree oven for 45 minutes.
