Great appetizers made in the crockpot. BBQ meatballs are fun to eat, and this recipe,even though cooked in an oddball sauce, is really pretty good!
This crockpot recipe for meatballs can be started one day, then finished the next. I often form the balls and bake them the night before, and refrigerate them overnight. Next day, it's into the crock pot with 'em for several hours of cooking.
To make the sauce, combine the chili sauce, jelly and mustard, mixing well. Add the egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper to the ground beef, thoroughly mix, and hand-roll into 1 inch diameter balls. Place onto a baking sheet.
Bake the balls in a preheated 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 15 minutes. Drain, then add to your crockpot along with the sauce.
Cook on the Low setting for 6 to 10 hours. Remove with a slotted spoon and serve skewered on toothpicks.
