Bill's Bourbon Steak Marinade Recipe

Whatever you do, don't drink it! Use this bourbon steak marinade for your T bones, ribeyes and New York strips. Use a good bourbon, preferably one that you enjoy sipping on occasion. My favorites are Jim Beam and Maker's Mark. Marinade ingredients also include butter, beef broth and bay leaves.

Maker's Mark Bourbon Steak Marinade

  • 1/2 cup Maker's Mark bourbon
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 or 3 dried whole bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Combine the bourbon, broth, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Add the bay leaves and black pepper, then continue to simmer for 15 minutes more. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Strain out the pepper and bay leaves. Whisk in the butter and oil.

Marinate steaks for 2 to 4 hours before grilling.
