BBQ chicken ain't bbq chicken without a good chicken barbecue sauce. This recipe has lots of flavor, and goes great on thighs, wings, breasts...you name it. It's just plain good on chicken!
Not too sweet, not too spicy, but loaded with flavor. Your chicken will be proud to be served with this sauce.
3 cups tomato puree
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Combine sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Over medium heat, bring to a gentle boil. Continue cooking for 20-30 minutes, stirring occassionally. When the sauce has thickened up a bit, it's ready. Allow to cool, then refrigerate. Keeps for a week or so...if it lasts that long!
