Great for grilled brisket or smoked brisket, this easy brisket rub
recipe has a mild, not too spicy flavor. A bit on the sweet side, with
hints of onion and garlic, this brisket dry rub is one of my all
purpose brisket seasonings.
You can make just enough for that 15 pound whole brisket you plan to smoke tomorrow, or enough to last you for a few months. It contains just six different ingredients, and doesn't have a lot of salt so it's good for low salt diets.
If you decide to make a large batch of this brisket rub recipe, keep it in a tightly sealed container in a dark, dry location and it'll be good for up to 3 months. You can store it in the refrigerator or freezer for up to six months.
This is a good smoked brisket rub, as well as a tasty grilled brisket rub. It's mild flavor is pleasing to just about everyone. The following recipe makes plenty for one large whole brisket.
Combine the seasonings in a small bowl and mix well. Use this rub generously on all sides of whole briskets or trimmed brisket flats.
If I can get away with it, I'll add a teaspoon or two of ground cayenne pepper to my brisket rub recipe to give it a little bit of a spicy bite.
