This recipe for oven baked bbq chicken is an easy way to cook a mess of chicken thighs for the gang. An Asian style bbq sauce is brushed on during the last few minutes of cooking.
Brine 12 chicken thighs for 2 hours in one gallon of basic brine:
Remove from brine,rinse and pat dry. Place the thighs on a baking sheet, skin side up. Place into a 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. As the chicken is baking, mix up the homemade hoisin sauce.
You'll have to get a couple of unusual ingredients for this one. And if
you don't want to make your own, you can buy a jar of it in the Asian
foods section of your local grocery store.
1/4 cup black bean sauce
1 teaspoon hot chili-garlic sauce
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon catsup
First, mix together the bean sauce, the hot chili garlic sauce and the honey. Next, mix in the soy sauce. Finally, stir in the catsup.
Brush your homemade hoisin sauce on both sides of the chicken, and cook another 5 minutes in the oven. Remove and serve. This Asian style oven baked chicken is pretty tasty! You'll have to try it!
